Using Desktop as a Chrome Application

A common issue when using a desktop application within a browser tab is that certain shortcut keys (e.g. ctr+w, ctr+F4) get captured by the browser itself.

The simple solution is to create an application shortcut using Chrome (and Chromium) browsers.

 

1. More Tools -> Create shortcut on your computer desktop

2. Select "Open as window" when creating shortcut

 

3. Launch your application by double-clicking the shortcut on your Desktop

4. Use your application and enjoy having your keyboard shortcuts work as intended
