SSH Access

SSH AccessFor ease of use, it's often requested to provide SSH access to DaDesktop machines, so that course participants and trainers can more easily access their Desktops from their own laptops or desktop PCs. It's fair enough that typing commands on a local terminal is often preferable to using a terminal on a remote Desktop.

Although technically possible, we don't allow SSH access in this scenario as it would unduly expose the DaDesktop course machines to some serious potential security issues.

A drag and drop file file transfer capability has been added so that files can be easily added from your own laptop or desktop to within the DaDesktop machine. Some requests for full SSH access were due to the previous lack of a way to transfer files, but with this feature now in place, using DaDesktop is even easier.

Note that full QEMU Spice Desktop support is now available on Windows and Linux OS templates, making it much simpler to copy and paste commands from your local machine to the DaDesktop machine, even when using a Mac or when using non English character sets.

For DDOP - DaDesktop on Premise servers, SSH access is permitted if required.
