Recycle Bin

Once a course wraps up, all the course machines – the Fresh Start, Trainer, and all Participant machines – are removed after a brief period.

A feature has been introduced that lets you recover these machines from the 'Recycle Bin' for some time after they've been removed from the course. How long machines can be restored depends on several factors, such as server disk space, course usage, and isn't based on a fixed period. We'd typically expect machines to be recoverable for at least a couple of months after the course finishes.

Each machine can be Restored back to its course if the course is still present; otherwise, it can be Restored to a Standalone Desktop, or if you prefer, Deleted completely.

Recycle Bin

You can check the status of your Recycle bin by looking at the Recycle Bin icon. If it's black, there are machines that can be restored; if it's greyed out, no machines are available in the bin for restoration.

You can also search the list of your machines in the recycle bin by name, server name, or course name.

How to Restore or Delete your machines from the Recycle Bin

  1. Restore - Use this to restore a machine that was deleted from a course; it will be returned to the course it belongs to. If the course has finished, the machine cannot be restored there and must be restored as a standalone machine instead (see below).
  2. Restore to Standalone Desktop - This is typically used if your course has finished and can't be restored there. Restoring to a standalone machine offers more flexibility, as the machine will be kept for as long as you need.
  3. Delete - To completely remove a machine from the Recycle Bin, use 'Delete'. Note that once deleted from the Recycle Bin, the machine cannot be recovered.
  4. Empty Recycle Bin - Pressing the red Empty Recycle Bin button will delete all your machines from the Recycle Bin, so they cannot be used again.
